This itinerary covers four main tourist attractions in Kenya, which will enable you to explore the magnificent beauty of the western regions and witness many landmarks.
Watch Pink Flamingos at Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park is among the most popular parks in the Riftvalley region. Millions of pink flamingos forage on the shores of Lake Nakuru, creating such a photogenic scene. This trip allows two to three hours of exploring Lake Nakuru Flamingos, the Big Five, and birds.
Explore the Kakamega Forest and Mt. Elgon National Park
Kakamega is quite far from Lake Nakuru National Park but it is where one of the largest rainforests in Kenya is. The Kakamega Forest is a thick tropical rainforest with indigenous tree species, birds, primates, and small animals like the African Golden Cat.
It is also boasts the famous “Crying Rock,” which stopped weeping a few years ago. Mt. Elgon National Park will be your next stop over, and the mountain is the main landmark to see. There won’t be enough time to hike and climb the mountain but at least you will explore the park’s wildlife.
Travel to Lake Victoria Via Kisumu City
Lake Victoria is the last destination to visit from Mt. Elgon National Park. It is a short distance from Kisumu City. Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world, covering three countries. It also shelters the Kisumu Impala Sanctuary, a beach park with many Sitatunga antelopes and impalas, 4 of the Big 5 African animals, smaller herbivores and predators, and birds. Lastly, we will take you to the Kisumu Museum to explore the cultural practices and historical events of the Luo people.
